Hot Pink Smoothie! (tastes like strawberry kool-aid)

I posted the recipe late last year - but no pictures. Here's the recipe again along with the hot pink photos of this marvalous tasty drink. My son asks for it often!

Fresh COCONUT WATER (from a young coconut)
Half a BEET (yes, raw!)
One CARROT (yes, yes, raw!)
Frozen STRAWBERRIES (raw, raw, raw!!!)
One DATE
Some VANILLA
A bit of AGAVE, if you desire a bit more sweetness.

Whir, whir, whir in the blender and then BLISS out on this healthy treat!

Ok, I can't do the beets! My husband dumped some on his salad tonight--ugh. Have you lost tons of weight this way?

Not tons yet - because I'm not 100% raw yet. And, honestly, I'm not sure I'll ever be.

As for the BEETS - I must say, I'm NOT a fan of beets at all! BUT, raw beets w/ strawberries, date, carrot, vanilla...is a lovely sweet combo! Seriously, I was very skeptical of the beets, but they are wonderful this way! I encourage a try, Terri.

I LOVE beets in smoothies! This one looks way cool, Slendie!

By the way, I made our first smoothie with coconut water yesterday: I'M HOOKED!

P.S. Where do you get your young coconuts?

I love kool-aid! The combo sounds scary...but I like how you said what it tastes like...kool-aid. I think I will give it a whirl! What kinds of dates do you use? Regular dates or Medjool?
I saw something in the market today...vita coco. It says that it is coconut water. I might pick some up the next time I go shopping.

AMJ217 - glad you're here! I use MEDJOOL DATES...that's all they have in our store - but they're perfect and sweet for this!

you can also use Almond Milk or plain fresh Water to sub for the Coconut Water if you like.

I buy young Thai coconuts in the little white hut looking skin at Whole Foods. Can't find them anywhere else.
